D
ID YOU KNOW...you can ship a couple of bushels of wheat from The Tulsa Port of Catoosa to the Gulf of Mexico, for less than the cost of a first class postage stamp; that the port is the most inland, year-round-ice-free port in the U.S.; and that one inland towboat, pushing 12 barges is replacing 720 trucks driving on the roads!

LOK members and guests will experience a VIP tour of The Tulsa Port of Catoosa with a boardroom briefing and barge tour of the facility. The Tulsa Port of Catoosa is a singular combination of a multi-modal shipping complex and 2,000-acre industrial park resulting in an economic impact of $300 million to Oklahoma. The complex hosts roughly 60 companies and employs nearly 4,000 Oklahomans.

Located at the head of navigation for the McClellan-Kerr Arkansas River Navigation System in Northeast Oklahoma, it is one of the largest, most inland river-ports in the United States. The Tulsa Port of Catoosa’s unique position allows companies to move millions of tons of bulk freight by barge each year and at a fraction of the cost and environmental impact of rail or truck. One thing is for “shore”; you will have a good time connecting with other LOK members!

Are you a “shore” thing? Click here to register by June 10, 2016.

After having spent the better part of a year touring the state to learn about the important issues and challenges facing Oklahoma, LOK graduates ask themselves “now what?” Most would say their experience offered a chance to learn of at least one issue that they felt drawn toward and compelled to do something to support and/or look for ways to improve. This is a great opportunity to network with other LOK graduates and legislators to move the state in a positive direction.
