Leadership Oklahoma Honors Distinguished Leader

Oklahoma City, Okla. —Leadership Oklahoma (LOK) is honoring Michele Campbell, Assistant State Director of Communications, Research, and Organizational Development with the Oklahoma Small Business Development Center at Southeastern Oklahoma State University, with the Distinguished Leadership Award during the 2017 All Class Reunion dinner and networking event on Monkey Island at Shangri-La Resort, on Wednesday, September 13, 2017. The two-day event is September 13-14, 2017 highlighting the local treasures in the Grove/Miami area, the All Class Reunion, then the forum on utilities; It’s Electric: Frankly My Dear, You Should Give a Dam!

“Each year, Leadership Oklahoma is proud to recognize an individual whose contributions to the organization have made a significant difference,” said Marion Paden, Ed.D., President and CEO of Leadership Oklahoma. “We are privileged and grateful to honor them for their efforts to promote and support the vision of LOK, their involvement and participation with the members and finally the commitment of their unique talents and resources to strengthen the organization.”

A member of Class XXIII and Lifetime Member of LOK, Michele has been active with LOK since successfully completing the program in 2010. She has served on the Leadership Oklahoma Board of Directors since 2012; chaired the Adult Program, serving one year as chair-elect; has been active with the Adult Planning Committee for seven years and on the local community planning committee for over five years; selection committee for two years, chairing the committee one year; the recruitment committee for the Southeast (SE) region for four years; the nominating committee for two years; Class XXIII Ambassador for two years, currently serving as the SE Regional Ambassador for over three years; served on many LOK event planning committees each year; and most recently, is the chair-elect for the Youth Program. Her service to Leadership Oklahoma is unprecedented and is a living example of our mission; Oklahoma’s leader making Oklahoma the leader. Michele has promoted and supported the vision of LOK by offering her time and talents to further the impact of LOK across Oklahoma and beyond. She brings passion to the organization and has spent countless hours making sure LOK is the best it can be and serves its mission.
Recent past recipients of the Distinguished Leadership Award are Bruce Benbrook of Woodward, Joe Moran III of Tulsa, Sam Combs III of Tulsa, Rhonda Hooper of Oklahoma City, Michelle Finch-Walker of Broken Bow and Cristy Morrison of Stillwater.
